Here’s how to put together your Shark Lapbook step by step:

Print all pages of the lapbook. You can use regular printer paper or cardstock for sturdier pieces. Most pages are in black and white so kids can color as they go!

Prepare your folder:
Grab a plain file folder and open it flat. Then fold each side inward to meet in the center, creating a trifold “shutter” lapbook layout. This gives you two flaps that open in the middle and space to glue elements inside and out.

Cut out each section and match it to the diagram:

🦈 Shark Life Cycle (Bottom Center Panel):
Cut out each life cycle stage—Egg Capsule, Small Embryo, Large Embryo, Hatchling, Juvenile Shark, and Adult Shark. Stack them vertically and staple or glue the strip together. Then glue the full strip on the bottom center panel of your folder.

🧠 Shark Anatomy Diagram (Center Panel):
Cut out the full-page labeled shark anatomy diagram. This goes right above the life cycle strip on the center panel. Kids can label the blank boxes using the included answer key or do it as part of a lesson.

📂 “Did You Know?” Shark Fact Cards (Top Right Flap):
Cut out each fact card and glue or tape them to flip upward on the top right inside flap. You can also mount them on a backing sheet if you prefer a mini-booklet style.

✏️ Shark Observation Report (Bottom Right Flap):
Glue the observation sheet underneath the fact cards on the right flap. Kids can draw a shark in the box and record details like appearance, habitat, and diet.

🦷 Shark Adjectives & Types of Sharks (Left Flap):
Cut out the “Shark Adjectives” title and glue it to the top left flap. Then cut and assemble the Types of Sharks pocket. Glue the pocket below the adjectives section and fill it with the shark name cards (Thresher Shark, Whale Shark, Tiger Shark, etc.).

💬 Shark Vocabulary Words (Optional Add-On):
